I'm trying to find a disc drive emulator for Windows 7 x64, I've tried Daemon Tools but that doesn't work as it's installer seems to think SPTD isn't installed when it is. I've even ran the SPTD x64 installer separately. Have you tried using Alcohol 120% yet? I'm pretty sure there is a 64 bit.

If you have Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise then XP mode is an option.
From a post by Kristan M. Kenney :

'Most applications that were designed for Windows 2000 or Windows XP will still function correctly under all editions of Windows 7, including Home Premium. Some applications check the version number of the operating system and will fail to run if it finds an unexpected version number, therefore Windows 7 has a compatibility mode which allows these types of programs to run correctly.
There is also another compatibility option geared towards IT professionals and business users which is called 'Windows XP Mode,' which is essentially a fully-licensed copy of Windows XP Professional running inside of a virtual machine and is only available to Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise, and Windows 7 Ultimate users.
Windows XP Mode is meant primarily for companies who have designed their own software in-house which is targeted specifically for a version of software - a prime example of this is a web application that only works in Internet Explorer 6 (which is available with Windows XP, but not with Windows 7).

Virtual CD or Virtual DVD are nothing but emulators that let you create virtual CD or DVD drives in your PC i.e. your operating system will treat them as any other real CD or DVD drives.

How does a Virtual CD or Virtual DVD work?

Cd Drive Emulator Windows 7

When you have a Virtual CD or Virtual DVD drive on your computer, you can mount an ISO image of the real CD or DVD using this drive, instead of placing a physical CD ROM or DVD into this virtual drive. The Virtual CD or DVD software will allow the system to play the CD or DVD or run programs from it. Thus, Virtual CD or DVD drives are useful only if you have ISO images of the CD or DVD you want to play.

Virtual CD or DVD drives are always faster than the real physical drives, since they reside on the hard disk of your PC. There are a few free Virtual CD or DVD software. One among them is “MagicDisc“.This is designed for creating and managing virtual CD drives and CD or DVD discs.

MagicDisc allows you to use almost all CD or DVD images, without burning them to a CD or DVD. Thus you can easily access your favorite games, music or software programs from your virtual CD-ROM. This free Virtual CD software lets you run your games (in ISO image formats) at over 200x faster than from a conventional CD/DVD-ROM!
